What do I get?

  • The Senior Early Years Practitioner course is broken into nine 6-week blocks, as follows. Blocks are independent from one another, and your starting "block" will vary depending upon when you enrol with the college. Block 1: EYSP 1: Manage care routines for children and EYSP 10: Work in Partnership in the Early Years Block 2: EYSP 3: Model positive behaviour in the early years and EYSP 4: Lead activities, experiences and educational opportunities to promote children’s speech, language and communication. Block 3: EYSP 5: Lead Children’s Early Education and Development and EYSP 6: Understand Holistic Child Development from Birth to 7 Years. Block 4: EYSP 7: Develop and Implement Policies and Procedures to Support the Safeguarding of Children and EYSP 8: Develop Health, Safety and Risk Management Policies, Procedures and Practices in the Early Years Setting Block 5: SHC53: Champion Equality, Diversity and Inclusion and EYSP 9: Supporting Children with SEND in an Early Years Setting Block 6: EYSP 2: Lead practice in promoting well-being and resilience in children (Externally Set Research Project 1). Block 7: EYSP 11: Lead and Manage a Team within the Early Years Setting and LM 502: Develop, Maintain and Use Records and Reports Block 8: EYSP 12: Quality Provisions in Early Years Settings (Externally Set Research Project 2) Block 9: SHC 52: Promote Professional Development and EYSP 13: Review own Knowledge of Learning and Development for Early Years Practice

What do I need?

  • To complete this qualifiction, you must be employed within the Early Years sector, working in an Ofsted registered setting with children aged from birth to 5
  • Please note, after school clubs and toddler groups are not appropriate for this qualification.
