We help students fund their education with ethical, compassionate finance by letting them spread the cost.

This removes the unfair barrier of up-front costs and lets them access life-changing education.

To pay with Knoma…

1. Choose a course

Once you have chosen your course, find the Pay With Knoma button on any course page, or on the checkout page of your chosen school

2. Apply to pay later

Complete our short application to spread the course cost over up to 12 months using our ethical finance.

3. We pay the school directly

Within 24 hours of a successful application, we’ll send the funds for your course to your school or bootcamp and let them know you’re enrolled.

4. Get ahead

Once you’ve accepted your course place, you’re all set. You’re ready to attend an impactful course to get ahead. We will set up the repayments in an affordable way and support you with your account.

Schools who partner with Knoma have access to the Knoma Partner Portal. This lets them keep track of who is applying, who has been approved, what course they are starting and when.

So they’ll be notified when you are approved.

Within 24 hours of you being approved to be funded by Knoma, we’ll pay the school your course fees.

To be eligible to use Knoma, you’ll need to…

• Be a UK resident

• Be 18+ years old

• Have a UK bank account

Eligibility is also subject to a credit check and an affordability check.

We exist because we don’t believe people who want to learn should have to pay unfair fees to finance their course. So we have built a solution to that.

Instead of charging learners interest and fees for spreading the cost of the course, we charge our education partners – the school or bootcamp you're learning with.

Basically, the school is happy to assume the cost because ultimately, it leads to more people being able to enroll in their courses.

We're built on the premise of not charging learners, so there are no unnecessary fees. The only fee we ever charge is a late payment fee of £7.50. This is in place to cover the costs we incur because of late payments. However, we always contact users when they've missed a payment and work with them to avoid missed payments resulting in charges. We use Direct Debit as the primary method.

Our payment process looks like this:

1. Select the course you wish to purchase with Knoma and complete an application

2. Select your preferred bank account for the payments to be taken from

3. Our automated system will take the monthly Direct Debit repayments over the agreed repayment term (up to 12 months).

When you have an instalment due, we'll let you know beforehand so you can make sure there's enough money in your account for that instalment. We'll do the rest.

First, choose the course you’d like to apply for.

Then click “Pay With Knoma”. We’ll ask you for some personal details, and perform an identity check and a credit check.

In most cases, we won't need any documents from you. Legally, we need to verify your identity – if we can't do this automatically, we might ask you for a small amount of documentation, such as your passport or driving licence.

Knoma performs a soft credit check at the point of application which will not impact your credit history. Your application and loan are added to your credit report once we have funded your loan.

In some cases, you will need to access your banking details to securely confirm your income and expenses via Open Banking.

What is Open Banking? Well, Open Banking is considered one of the most secure ways of sharing your bank statement and proving affordability. It is part of UK law, can only be provided by FCA approved organisations and your banking credentials remain private between you and your bank. You can learn more here:
