What will you

Learn?

Here's what HOST say about their course...

What do I get?

  • In this course you will learn how to program using the Unity game engine. This will involve using Unity Collaborate, which allows you to carry out source control from within the Unity Editor. We will also cover other source code tools such as GitHub and Git. You will add features to an existing Unity project such as movement, screen wrapping, health/scoring system, particle effects, multiple levels and more. This will feature in the first 2 weeks of the course which will be delivered by Unity instructors. You will then complete a Unity Hackathon, also delivered by Unity instructors, allowing you to work in teams to deliver a project from scratch. We will also discuss how commerical projects are delivered by using the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) which makes use of Agile working. We will be looking into the potential roles you can find yourself in after completing the course. We will show you Unity products and how they are being used in industry whilst looking at XR. After completing these sessions there will be a few weeks to allow you to carry out some self-study to help you prepare for the internationally recognised Unity Certified Professional Programmer exam. Around this time there will be sessions dedicated to helping you improve your CV to help you hit the ground running. The final weeks of the academy will involve working on a real-life commerical project where you will gain valuable experience that will help solidify your understanding with using Unity. When the academy ends we will help you get an interview for a developer job that uses Unity.

What do I need?

  • Prior experience in programming is essential, a computer science related degree is preferable
  • The candidate should have also previously used the Unity Development Platform either during studying or in a professional environment.
