What do I get?

  • SQE2 assess candidates based on six practical skills assessments. These include: ● Client interviewing and attendance note ● Advocacy ● Case and matter analysis ● Legal research and written advice ● Legal drafting ● Legal writing These six practical skills assessments cover five main practice areas including criminal litigation, dispute resolution, property practice, wills and intestacy probate administration and practice, and business organisations and rules and procedures. Ethics and professional conduct are assessed throughout the SQE2.

What do I need?

  • Candidate must successfully pass the SQE1 or have passed the QLTS MCT
  • Those who have succesfully passed the MCT will have until 31 March 2024 (inclusive) to apply to the SRA to become a solicitor
  • Those who have completed the LPC can also sit the SQE2 having acquired an SQE1 exemption from the SRA
