What will I learn?

  • HTML and CSS - Create the structure and content of web pages and web apps and style that content
  • JavaScript - write the logic of your application and make your user interface interactive
  • API's and AJAX - connect to external data sources
  • Libraries and Frameworks - React, Express (Node.js), D3, Three.JS, Greensock
  • SQL and NoSQL - administer databases and persist relational and non-relational data (Postgres, MongoDB, Neofj)
  • Tools and Systems - e.g. the Command Line; Git; Cloud service providers; Build processes and DevOps
  • Best practice for writing software: Design patterns e.g. MVC; Programming principles e.g. DRY, SOLID; Programming paradigms e.g. Object Oriented Programming, Functional Programming

Syllabus

Master the awesome power of tech, unleash your potential, and make the jump to your new career as a software developer or step up to the next level of your current career by building software that brings your ideas to life. Our 30-week, part-time programme of in-depth software-engineering training and optional career-change support is our most comprehensive programme. You'll learn to develop and deploy enterprise-grade software to a professional standard. You will also be taught the most in-demand and commercially valuable tech (NO RUBY). Our teachers are expert developers with 15+ years of experience of software development and teaching development. You will learn for more 2.5 times longer than a full-time bootcamp, giving you more time to learn to a greater depth and reach a higher standard without the pressure from having to quit your job and lose your income to train. You'll complete our structured curriculum, covering the full client-server model and cover 9 key projects which will form the bulk of your portfolio. The career-change support includes helping you build and curate your portfolio of projects; helping you understand how and where to source roles; sharing roles from our network; rewriting your CV to be more effective; mock interview practice and more.

What are the requirements?

No prior experience required - we take you from little or no coding experience to being a professional software developer. If there's something we need you to know, we believe in teaching you that on the bootcamp, not asking you to learn that beforehand.
